Anyone else in HCMC whose status has been “pending approval” for several days(more than 5 working days)? I have seen some get it in 5 days from start to finish and some seem to be waiting for several weeks lately.
Edit: I just got my visa. 😀 27/01/2026

TLDR : Answer Summary
Many applicants in Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC) are expressing concern about their visa applications remaining in 'pending approval' status for more than five working days. Experiences vary, with some receiving approvals within five days, while others face longer waits. The community shares insights that applications often jump from 'pending approval' directly to 'finished,' suggesting that the approval process may not always follow a standard timeline. Some users are particularly anxious as they approach the expiration of their free visas, clarifying the typical waiting period appears to range from 5 to 7 days.
I also want to know about the pending approval period. I applied it in HCMC. My status has been “pending approval on 19th Jan. My free visa will be expired on 4th Feb. So, I’m seriously worried about that.😞.
Anonymous participant 188 Looks like 5-7 days after pending approval seems the norm. Are you able to get out and back in for another 60 days if required?
Yeah, and asked chat GPT it said that in HCMC most of applications jump straight from “pending approval” to “finished” status without any mid step changes.
