TLDR : Answer Summary
The conversation discusses experiences from users who applied for a Thai visa through the London embassy recently, specifically focusing on remote work visas. The responses highlight varying processing times and the requirements for documentation. One user noted a particularly quick approval within 24 hours despite submitting an explanatory letter instead of an employment contract, while another mentioned a thorough and strict process with extensive proof of eligibility. Overall, applicants report that the London embassy is efficient in processing visa applications.

Very smooth 24 hours which must be a record!

Submitted-

1 month Bank Statement

Letter from employer (tho itโ€™s my company)

Details of flights & accommodation (but no documents)

As far I can tell London are one of if not the most expedient.

Hope all goes well ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿป

Your situation sounds similar to mind in terms of my own company. What kind of information did you include in the letter?

I was recently approved in London, remote working. All straightforward. I was asked for an employment contract which I donโ€™t have, but I attached an explanatory letter instead of the contract and it was approved very quickly. They responded within two days when I added new info onto the system.

What information did you provide in the letter? Are you self employed or employed?

I confirmed that Iโ€™m a Co-owner of a two man ltd company, my role in the business, how I take remuneration and that I can work remotely. I also provided a letter from the business (signed by my Co owner) confirming the same. They then asked for a copy of our certificate of incorporation. They responded within a day or two each time and seemed happy with sensible explanations. At no point did they send obstructive. Good luck

Not recently, but I applied at London for remote worker and processing was very thorough and the proofs requested were extensive. It was no easy task. Though if requirements are met it should pay dividend.

Which have you applied on? They reckon Remote working takes longer than Soft Power because of more checks I presume.

ok, I think they probably scrutinise more on remote working, although I believe some Embassies are getting a bit particular now about the Soft Power route.
