Went to Sydney consulate to lodge O A Multi. Had checked paperwork and list from the net a dozen times to make sure I had not stuffed up. Arrived at consulate read the what's required leaflet, yep same thing: 1 set original 2 copies. Presented paperwork; they only wanted one original one copy and two photocopies of passport. Asked how come and they said the Internet had not been updated. I pointed out their information leaflet next to the counter was wrong and she just shrugged. Mae pen rai papers accepted, money paid and out the door in five minutes. Tis the Thai way, hoping everything else goes smoothly.

Has anyone gotten an O-A from the Sydney consulate recently? Going back there later this year for a holiday and will take the opportunity to renew my partner's O-A. Already in the "second year" of the O-A.

Can I use the show funds in a Thai bank account to meet the financial requirements and have a health certificate from a doctor in Bangkok?

Where should I do a police check? Bangkok or Australia?

Do the copies of the documents need to be notorised and bound (Canberra website says yes, Sydney is silent), and how long has the process taken for you?

Tried emailing the Sydney consulate but they haven't been responsive. I would like to avoid sending the passport to Canberra (risk of loss, time etc).

Thanks in advance.
