Hello everyone,

I applied for a Thailand DTV visa about 40 days ago. Since then, I have exchanged emails with the embassy 3–4 times. They requested several additional documents, and I submitted everything they asked for, but I still haven’t received any decision.

Does anyone know what I can do in this situation? If someone has experienced something similar before or has any advice, I would really appreciate your help.

I submitted my application through Kazakhstan, but I am currently in my home country. There has been no update so far, and my application status still shows as “under consideration.”

Thank you in advance for any advice or information.
Answer summary
A user has applied for a Thailand DTV visa and is uncertain about the status of their application, which has been pending for 40 days without updates. They have communicated with the embassy multiple times, providing all requested documents, but the application still shows as 'under consideration.' Several commenters suggest that the user's location outside Kazakhstan, where the application was submitted, may affect the outcome, and they advise on sending a polite inquiry to the embassy about the application status and potential delays.

Why did you leave? I think it is a valid question. Why did you apply there if you didn't intend to stay and it's not your usual work or home location. I think they are thinking the same thing. I think they don't get a lot of non residents applying and wondering if you chose the wrong consulate.

Just the fact you are no longer in the jurisdiction of the Thai consulate in Kazakhstan means there's a risk your DTV application will be rejected or revoked on entering Thailand if it gets issued. Thai consulates expect you to remain within their jurisdiction while applications are being processed

A polite email saying you need to make travel plans and therefore must know when they will make a decision.

they want to know where he is as he is not in the country he applied from I’d say it’ll be a certain rejection and he’ll have to apply again from the country he is or do it again properly from another country

What passport do you hold, were you in Kazakhstan when you applied, why did you leave if you were there. Where are you now?

When is your flight book to arrive in Thailand? If you have booked it for say 5 months they will delay your processing. If you booked it for say 4 weeks the will prioritise your application. Happened to a mate

I am curious, how did you answer this first question? Did you tell them you left Kazakhstan?
