Hello there. I am in the process of planning my travel to apply for the DTV visa. I am currently in Thailand and planning to travel around the middle of January. I am looking for some guidance on the countries in the region that will have the quickest turn around time. I understand there may be some changes to the in person vs e-visa that may affect wait times in the New Year. Is there anyone who can shed some light on preferable destinations?

Taipei is the quickest - Walk in same day approval, next day pick up at the moment. When going online will take 2 days to approve, embassy said.

Vietnam (Hanoi) is currently still on roughly a 5-working-day turnaround, they're less strict about how long the funds have been in your account, and it's all on the eVisa system (so you can prepare most of your application before even entering Vietnam). It still seems to be one of those most popular DTV destinations in SE Asia right now, and it's a generally a great place to visit while you wait for approval.
