I am in dilemma regarding Non-Imm Ed Visa Cancellation. Could the respected admins please educate me on this;

My Question:

1. How long after the graduating date in my Transcript should I go Cancel my current Visa?

1. And then, how long am I permitted to stay after Cancelling that Visa?

Thank you in advance! :)

TLDR : Answer Summary
You should cancel your Non-Imm Ed Visa at the immigration office effective either your graduation date or the date specified on your school's documentation. After the cancellation, you are not permitted to stay in Thailand unless you apply for an extension; otherwise, you will receive a 7-day stamp to leave the country.

when you go to the immigration office your extension will be cancelled effective your graduation date (the date you no longer are studying) OR on the date the documentation the school gives you says you stopped studying

You aren't permitted to stay ANY days past that without applying for an extension (which if denied you will get a 7 day stamp to get out of thailand).

Hi dear sir, one more follow up question to my previous Ed Visa Cancellation:

For example, lets say I take a letter stating I'm student till 27th. I then cancel before 20th. Does this mean I have to leave Thailand within 24hrs. of Visa Cancelation? or Will I be able to stay till 27th (because my document says I'm student till 27th)?

@Alek *****
they will cancel it based on the letter/transcript from the school, so if it says the 27th is your last day, and you go to cancel it on the 20th you will get a stamp that lets you stay until the 27th.

Keep in mind if you are from Siam Tech, they are HARD AS NAILS on the transcript date not anything the school writes.

Good luck with it,

Thanks for the clarification as always, Tod! that OR means, Even though Transcript shows early, I can ask my school to do me a favor and write for little longer (not like 1months but say 1 week or so) in college letter, right?
