Hello everyone! I
hold a non immigrant F visa that will expire on Dec 14. I plan to go to Chaengwattana tomorrow to submit my application for one year renewal.
However my Italian passport expires on June 22, 2022, i.e. during the validity of my next visa.
I am going to ask for a new passport at the Italian consulate.
But how does it work in this case with the Visa? Is it transferred on the new passport ? Sorry if the question is naive, and thank you in advance for your replies!
TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion revolves around an individual holding a non-immigrant F visa expiring on December 14. They are planning to apply for a one-year extension but face the issue of their Italian passport expiring on June 22, 2022, during the validity of the renewed visa. The comments highlight that the extension will only be valid until the expiration date of the current passport. It is advised to apply for a new passport as soon as possible and that any visa extension will be contingent on the new passport's validity. It is emphasized that new applications for visa extensions should be made within 45 days or less of the current extension's expiration.
