The discussion revolves around the preparation needed for renewing a retirement visa in Thailand. Users share advice on obtaining bank letters and statements in advance, emphasizing the need to update the bank book on the same day of the immigration appointment. There are varying opinions based on personal experiences with different banks (like Kasikorn and Bangkok Bank). Key takeaways include the importance of ensuring that the bank statements and passbook show matching balances and updating the passbook on the day of the application.

the likelihood is you will be denied your extension. They normally check this pretty carefully. In which case you'll need to leave Thailand and apply for a new 90 day Non-O visa, basically start over

Where could I get that done nearer to Thailand

The bank statement and the bank book must have the same balance.

Kasikorn will do the statements and the letter in about an hour at most

Do that in the morning and then immigration in the early afternoon.

Vincent May we deposit a thousand on the day. Get the bank book updated and the statements printed. They will use that balance in their letter to immigration.

It's why nothing is ever simple in Thailand. The more complex it is, the more likely it is you'll pay a Thai to sort it.

Check with your local immigration office. Where I live, it all has to be same day...

They usually want to see "ön the day" statement . So you chose the 65k bht/month for the financial proof ? Or 800K ?

OP
I do the 800k seems easier thank you 🙏

If that is indeed the case, then generally, no—a 12-month bank statement is not required. You typically only need a bank letter and an updated bank passbook confirming that you've maintained the 800,000 THB balance for at least 2–4 months prior to applying. That said, to be absolutely certain, it's best to double-check with your local immigration office, as requirements can vary by location.

Letter and bank statements can be 7days before but the bank book have to be updated to the same day as application.....bkk bank might be slow in getting the 12mths statements But u can get the letter and 6mths statements over the counter immediately get your previous 6mths statements from the bank app (emial) and print them out for the bank staff to stamp so u get full 12mths statements

If you have Bangkok bank you must order 1 year 10 days in advance. Pick it up at bank in afternoon day before you go to immigration. Get another statement at bank for missing days on 1 year. Get letter and update passbook. Go to immigration at 7am if you want to finish in 1 day.

You'll need to check with your immigration office, most allow the statements and letter to be up to 7 days old with just the bank book being updated on the day

they will not allow 7 days missing. Sometimes an immigration agent will deny day before
