EDIT: thanks for replies but can I ask again please sorry:

THIS IS JOMTIEM ONLY

1. NON O VISA. - I HAVE HAD 800000 IN ACCOUNT LAST 12 MONTHS - DOES STATEMENT HAVE TO BE FOR 3/6/12 MONTHS ?

2. DOES LETTER HAVE TO COVER WHAT PERIOD OF TIME OR IS IT JUST A DATED LETTER? DOES THIS LETTER HAVE TO BE DATED SAME DAY AS APPLICATION OR CAN IT BÈ 1 WEEK OR XDAYS BEFORE APPLICATION

3. DOES STATEMENT AND LETTER HAVE TO BE DATED SAME DAY AS APPLICATION?

4. DOES BANK BOOK HAVE TO SHOW DEPOSIT TRANSACTION ON DAY OF APPLICATION OR DAY BEFORE APPLICATION OR WHEN?

Hi Stuart, fountain of knowledge or anyone who can answer please. Going to renew non o visa at Jomtiem. I will get statement from bank 1 or 2 days before I go is this acceptable? I will get statement how far back does it have to show please? I will get letter from bank how far back can it be dated, the same day I go to immigration or before please? Does letter and statement have to cover a 6 or 12 mnth period.? I will pay in 100 baht and update bank book same date as letter or statement or day I apply at immigration? The queue shuts at 11 so can't get statement, letter or update passbook on same day. Is it acceptable I update passbook the same day as letter, bank statement or day before I go to immigration please? Thanks

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking clarification on the requirements to renew a Non-O visa in Jomtien, specifically regarding the validity and date of bank statements and letters required for the visa application. Questions include how far back the bank statements should go, if the letter from the bank must be dated the same day as the application, and whether the bank book needs to reflect transactions made on the day of application. Responses from other users suggest that the statement should ideally cover a 12-month period, the bank letter can be dated up to a week before the application, and the bank book must show the balance as of the day of application.

Just have FFT 2K usd a month deposit. Thats all you need. Foreign funds transfer....

for that to work, on the first year, he'll need a letter from his Embassy confirming. Most embassies will no longer issue it. However for his second year he can do that, with a 12 month history of doing so.
Lyndon ************
12 months.

They want to see the balance for each month, to satisfy themselves that the balance hasn't dropped below limits.

The letter confirms the balance at the time of issue.

Statement and letter 'typically' valid for 7 days. TiT

Bank book, just needs to show an update on the day. Can be done at many branch ATM's

A suggestion, check to see if you can make an online appointment at your IO. Can save a lot of time

thanks Linda but if I do the update on the dat it won't show on the letter or statement if I get them printed say a couple of days before ?
Lyndon ************
@Barry *******
that will be fine. The update on your bank book just needs to show the balance on the day is above limits. Don't forget to get a photocopy done.

The statement is historical info over the year to show you've kept the account within limits required.

The letter is basically saying you have an account and this is the balance.

sorry Lyndon I'm Mr Thicky. So do I do deposit say a 100 baht before I get letter and statement so that deposit is shown on the letter and statement and just update book again on the day without making a deposit or do I make 2 deposits, one before getting letter and statement and another one on the day. TIA

@Barry *******

hi Lyndon I have 2 problems the first is I didn't pay any money into my bank today before they printed letter and statement. So although I asked for 12 months they only went from
*****
/22 to the last transaction in June 2023. I then made a transaction in the bank and they locally printed another page showing todays transaction. So i have 4 pages printed by HO and 1 printed locally. So date of statement begins
*****
/22 until
****
/23, technically 12 months but not
****
/22 untul
****
/23. Will this be okay please? I got them to print another authorisation letter dated
****
/23 including todays payment. Secondly my landlord cannot print the screenshot for my TM30 because its on the old system and the new system started in November this year. So i have no written proof but i know immigration have the details. Will this be okay please?

@Barry *******
no problem at all

@Barry *******

Hi Lyndon, so just to be clear, I have had 800k + untouched in my account for 14 months, I don't need to make any more deposits before getting the letter and statement. I just need to update the passbook on the day I go to immigration without putting any further money in. Thank you.

and I can get letter and statement up to 7 days before I go to immigration?
John **********
If you use Bangkok Bank you need to ask for the statement in advance as it can take 5 working days for them to provide it so I always go and ask a week early. The 12 months statement you can get via their app is not acceptable to immigration.
Lyndon ************
Perhaps check with your bank. Depending on which branch you opened your account with and where you are asking, it can take 5 working days for them to process the internal paperwork. Others can do it all in a day...

Get everything day of application

how can you pay in 100 baht update passbook and get letter and statement same day please and get to immigration?
Will ************
@Barry *******
where I am , bank opens go in ask for letter , statement, update passbook. Go for lunch, pick up documents. Copy everything needed for application, already have photo . Go to immigration, fill in forms , get forms checked , get 30 day under consideration stamp. Wait for phone .. they may come and check where I live … 1 hours notice within them 30 days. Go back to immigration on said date , pay and get 1 yr extension stamp.

@Barry *******
We all do it on same day that’s the rules !!

You can very easily go your bank at 9am deposit or withdraw say 1,000 then go in bank and ask them for one year statement and still get to immigration same morning or take a stroll and be on immigration directly after lunch no problem

Hi Bob not worried about 400k/ 800k it's just to ensure I have correct paperwork and deposits etc in right order before I go to immigration

Thanks very much.
Lyndon ************
@David ******
it's the 800k route if he isn't married to a Thai, which can drop to 400k for the middle part of the visa but has to be back up to 800k.

The 400k route you mention requires marriage
Bob **********
@Lyndon ***********
3 months after the extension it can drop to 400k and needs to

Be topped up to 800k two months before his next extension
Lyndon ************
Damo ***********
@David ******
I did not say it was.. you are about to CONFUSE the guy unnecessarily... read my comment again.. and this time try to understand it before you confuse the issue.
Lyndon ************
@David ******
he's correct 400k is the minimum. 800k the start and finish

hi so when do I update passbook please and how far before I get statement and letter please
Kevin ********
@Barry *******
same day you go to Immigration. I've been sent out before used to get mine the day before.
Damo ***********
@Barry *******
statement 12 months. IO need to ensure 400k in account at all times for last 1 year, and 800k for 2 months before your renewal, and 800k for 3 months after your last renewal.
