TLDR : Answer Summary
To extend your tourist visa in Thailand, it is advisable to apply at least 3-4 days before your visa expires to allow for any potential issues. Your extension will be granted on the day of application. Bring cash for the fee, and consider writing down your GPS coordinates and phone number to facilitate the process. Make sure to bring the TM30 form and check which immigration office to visit, as there may be different offices handling various types of visas.
be very careful as 2 IO's in Bangkok....1 takes Extension on VISA EXEMPT and the other takes everything else like a TOURIST VISA (TR). So which do you have?

Iβd get it at least 3-4 days before, your 60 days are up, incase of mistakes, and you have to go back.
BUT β¦. it will be granted on that day if all ok , so your 30 day starts on that very day ok .
What Graham has shown you is correct take cash, they will only accept the cash.
You might also on the bottom of the form, to save time when at the counter , write your gps coordinates, of where you are staying/living, as they will ask you, to open your phone on maps , and show them, also your phone number . (Remember to take the TM30).
You donβt need to pay an agent, itβs so simple , check where the office is, if in your town, as you may need to go to a different area, as it might be somewhere else in a nearby town.
Every 30 days extension based on an initial 60 days visa exempt is added to your admitted until date. It never starts the day you applied for it at immigration.
