Hello everyone I came to thialand in 2017 for the first time with a 2 month tourist Visa than I got an extention for 30 days in koh samui after I went back home to England for around 5 months. Than I came back again with the tourist Visa and went to samui for the 30 days extention after that I wanted to stay longer so I kept going to malasia and loas to get my 60 days tourist Visa in thialand than going to samui for the 30 day extention . In all I stayed in the county for 11 months. I than went back to engalnd in in 2019 for 4 months. I wanted to come back here again so I got a 60 day tourist Visa in England. When I arrived at Suvarnabhumi Airport they pulled me into a room and forced me to book my flight back after my 2 months was finished to England ( I have spoken to the thia consulate where I got my thia Visa from they said I can get a tourist Visa without a flight home ) so I had to change all my plans and book a ticket back home. If I didnt book a ticket back they would not off let me come into the country. So my question is 1 will I be able to get an extention. 2 would I be able to get an ed Visa .and is it difficult to get the ed viss. Because at the air port they told me I used the wrong visa . Anyone who can help me with some advice and information would be much appreciated thanks . I am a holder of a UK passport

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user describes their experience with multiple entries into Thailand using tourist visas and the challenges faced at the airport regarding proof of onward travel. They seek advice on how to extend their current visa and whether they can switch to an Education (ED) visa. Comments suggest that a 30-day extension is possible for a fee, and that obtaining an ED visa involves enrolling in a school and obtaining the requisite documentation to facilitate the visa application process.

okay, anyone can be asked for proof of onward travel when they fly into the country AND they can be denied entry without it, so consider yourself lucky they let you book onward travel and stamped you into the country.

You will be able to get a 30 day extension at the immigration office on the entry you're on for 1900baht.

As far as an ED visa, It's not that hard to do, you find a school in the area of thailand where you live that offers ED visa support, enroll, pay your tuition, get your paperwork from them and go to a thai consulate in a nearby country and get a 90 day single entry ED visa. you get stamped in for 90 days and then when that runs down the school gives you paperwork to go to the immigration office and get a 90 day extension. You do that for the length of the course..

Just do your homework and vet the school to make sure that they are legit with the docs they provide. Ask questions as you go. Always better to be safe than sorry. Also good to post your experience to help others. Good luck mate.

I believe you will be able to extend by 30 days. In the meantime, find a school that you want to study at and they should be able to give you the documentation to apply for the visa in a neighboring country.

You can not get an Non Immigrant ED visa just for a longer stay inside Thailand.

You used the wrong visa according the immigration officer. By going to school and apply for the non immigrant ED visa is that using the correct visa for your purpose of stay inside Thailand?
