Hi all, anyone know for sure what is the reason for the "under consideration" stamp for 10 days to extend a tourist visa for 60days? I had to write a reasoning for wanting 60 instead of 30 days, will they scrutinise that to decide?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The "under consideration" stamp indicates that the immigration office is reviewing your request to extend your tourist visa from 30 to 60 days. The decision will depend on the reasoning you provided, and it may include scrutiny of your circumstances, particularly in relation to the COVID-19 pandemic. Comments suggest that you should return on the specified date for the outcome, and be aware of the implications if your extension is denied.

On the application, always write the name of the extension you are trying to get. In this case, a person would write “60 day extension of stay based on unable to travel due to COVID-19”

Working online is not legal in Thailand, and is one of those activities that, if you do, you must not let others know.

At best, you’ll get granted another 60 days when you return to immigration.

At worse, you will be rejected and will get an “extension of stay denied “ stamp. You will then have 7 days to leave Thailand.

Go back on the date instructed and you will know the answer.

Likely 60 days...but could be 30.
