Hello I would like to know how is the DTV Visa cancellation process working? I have to cancel DTV and going to apply for Ed plus visa soon. So, please kindly share your experience with me steps by steps. Thank you.
Answer summary
The cancellation process for a DTV (Digital Nomad Visa) is not straightforward. It is suggested that rather than cancelling, one might be able to convert the DTV to another visa type at an immigration office in Thailand, though experiences with this conversion have not been widely reported as successful. It seems the consulate that issued the DTV might be the only place willing to officially carry out a cancellation. Furthermore, it's important to note that one can study on any visa in Thailand, including the DTV, and doing so may eliminate the need for cancellation prior to applying for the Ed Plus visa. However, if you do proceed with the Ed Plus application, it should automatically cancel the DTV visa upon approval.

Why? You can study whatever on any visa, including the DTV.
For what purpose did you get the DTV visa? Workcation or Soft Power Activity?
You don't need to have an Ed Visa to do Thai or foreign language study.
Are you going to be attending a Thai university degree course of study?
What is your passport nation?
The Ed plus visa is available for those who have completed their degree course of study in a Thai university. It's an added one year extension of stay in Thailand.
You now have a 5 year DTV visa... I'm trying to understand your logical reasoning for giving up the 5 year DTV visa for the 1 year Ed Plus extension of stay. ???
In theory you should be able to convert (not cancel) from a DTV to another visa type at an immigration office inside Thailand, however I've yet to hear of anyone successfully doing this. I suspect the only place that might be willing to cancel a DTV is the consulate that issued it.
