How do I access the Re-Entry Permit counter at Suvarnabhumi Airport for a Non-Immigrant O visa?

Hi everyone,

could someone please share up-to-date information on how to get to the Re-Entry Permit counter at Suvarnabhumi Airport (BKK)?

Iโ€™ve done a re-entry permit before at Don Mueang Airport, but at that time I was on a tourist visa.

Now Iโ€™m on a 90-day Non-Immigrant O visa, so Iโ€™d like to double-check the current procedure.

๐Ÿ‘‰ Iโ€™m mainly looking for:

โ€ข Where exactly the counter is at BKK (before or after immigration, which floor, etc.)

โ€ข What documents are currently required, such as:

โ€ข TM.8 form

โ€ข passport

โ€ข copies of passport / visa / entry stamp

Previously at Don Mueang I brought TM.8 + my passport. I had copies prepared, but they didnโ€™t actually ask for them.

Is it still the same at BKK, or do they now require copies?

Iโ€™d really appreciate it if someone who has recently done this at BKK could share their experience ๐Ÿ™

Thanks in advance!

TLDR : Answer Summary
To access the Re-Entry Permit counter at Suvarnabhumi Airport (BKK) while on a 90-day Non-Immigrant O visa, head to Departure 2 after security. If you enter through Departure 3, 4, or 5, you must return to Departure 2 within the transit area. You will typically need only your passport; copies of your visa or passport are often not required, but bringing a TM.8 form may expedite the process. Note that the fee is in cash, and the counter is usually not busy.

Does it matter where Iโ€™m flying to, or can I always enter through Departure 2?

if you use Departure 3, 4 or 5, you must walk all the way back within the transit zone to DEPARTURE 2 and approach Immigration to be allowed back out of the transit zone - the re-entry desk in Departure 2 is the only one at the airport

It doesn't matter what entrance you use, as the IO will direct you to the counter. You don't need anything but your passport. Be aware they only accept cash. They charge 200 baht more than the immigration offices because they do everything for you. It is not usually busy.

Ian Morrison ??? "It doesn't matter what entrance you use," . . . .??? . . why would you utter such an unqualified comment? Because actually it matters - if you use Departure 3, 4 or 5, you must walk all the way back within the transit zone to DEPARTURE 2 and approach Immigration to be allowed back out of the transit zone - the re-entry desk in Departure 2 is the only one at the airport

If you take the second escalator for international departures, you will find the Re-entry permit counter in the corner between the security and immigration.

Easiest way is to use International Depatures 2 and the desk is after security at the bottom of the escalator (turn right) before the Immigration desks

You only need the passport, nothing else. Ask any security officer after you climb the elevator; they will tell you where the counter is.
