How can my wife transition from a 30-day visa exemption to a Non-O visa in Thailand without leaving the country?

Hey looking for advice please…

My wife, daughter and I moved to Bangkok in summer. I’m working out here but my wife was here on a guardian visa (gay marriage not legalised here so our marriage doesn’t count for spousal visa).

She unfortunately had to fly home very suddenly as her mum passed away - not leaving enough time for the funds to be in a thai bank first etc so couldn’t get a re-entry permit prior to leaving.

Upon returning to Thailand, her Non-O 90 day visa wasn’t approved on time by the London embassy so she flew out here on 30 day exemption. She’s extended for another 30 days but will soon need to swap to a Non-O visa again. Is there a way to do this in country without completing a border run? Considering most borders in a close proximity to Thailand are closed.

Any help would be much appreciated please!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The individual seeks guidance on how their wife, who is currently on a 30-day visa exemption after returning to Thailand, can change to a Non-O visa without leaving the country. Due to circumstances surrounding her previous guardian visa and the loss of her mother, she requires advice on the specific requirements, including bank fund levels and documentation necessary for the in-country visa application. Community members provided information on the required funds in a Thai bank account, the documents needed for the 90-day Non-O visa, and suggestions for a Covid extension if deadlines are approached.
NON-O RETIREMENT VISA RESOURCES / SERVICES

In the worst case, try to get a Covid extension on or before 26th Nov. Not sure still can apply for Non-O guardian to a foreign child after that, but at least she can get two more months to sort things out. (not sure how "soon" you mean though)

She needs to have a minimum of 15 days left on the current stamp she has (visa exempt or extension from it) and have 500K baht in a thai bank account in her name only and meet the requirements documentation-wise to apply for a 90 day Non-O visa based on raising a foreign child here.

Go to Chaengwattana Immigration office Section C-1 (the section that issues in country visas in Bangkok) and get the hand out listing the requirements.

There is no seasoning requirement to get the 2000baht 90 day Non-O visa, and the seasoning for the first yearly extension based on raising a foreign child here is 500K baht in the bank for 30 days. Every year extension after that the funds need to be seasoned for 3 months.
