Non-O Thai Child (90 days)

I was wondering if anyone has ever applied or been issued the Non-O 90 days (visiting Thai family / child) within Thailand or before entering Thailand. For the case where fathers name is on the birth certificate, but no legitimation of child, and not married to the mother.

Has anyone got the visa without the 400,000 THB in bank account ? or submitted Thai bank statements ?

Got a 3 month Non O to visit Thai Child from UK , Not married or legitimisation , just needed child's birth certificate and an income of 65 000 Baht for the previous 3 months

Peter West Thanks for the info, the income part is the tricky bit for me as I don't work in Thailand, but all my income are through the Thai bank, not sure if that could be used

Never seen anyone who had to supply 65k for family before.

40k has been the known amount for family both married and married to Thai wife.

You'll get the 90 day Non-O visa but you won't be able to get the 12 months extension of stay without legitimisation. If the kid is under 7 that means going through the court

My baby girl is only 10 months old so the court process will have to be done for 12 month extension.

But since I'm already in Bangkok now with Tourist Visa was wondering which option would be easier to get the Non-O 90 day whether from changing visa type within Thailand, or flying out and apply for it.

One more thing which I'm puzzled is if I did a 30 day extension to my current Tourist Visa, can I still change to Non-O within Thailand

do you already have a Thai bank account? Without one you can't change to a Non-O visa inside Thailand. Be aware that the court process can take months.

If you have a Thai bank account you need to put the required funds in it before you can apply and you must have between 15 and 21 days left on your current stamp to apply, you can get the extension and use that stamp if you wish. Check the exact requirements with your immigration office.

Otherwise you'll need to apply for the 90 day Non-O visa outside Thailand

Yes I have a Thai bank account. The thing is I used to work here in Bangkok for many years but not anymore and have been here ever since. I don't have the necessary documents or requirements for the Non-O just yet (under process and could take months). I can't go back to my country just yet too as I basically moved to Thailand and will need sometime to get things sorted for that too.

For my case in order to check for the requirements do I go to Laksi or Chaengwatthana ?

the age to legitimise (form 11) depends on the amphur office - I was able to do it when they were 3 and 5 years old however it did require 2 witnesses, director of the school and a teacher
