So I'm no further forward. I'm flying into Bangkok on 19th so how do I manage to get to the newly added Sandbox programs from there if they are all down south and I'm not aloud to get a flight when I arrive 🤔 If I leave it too late and do a cut off on 17th I won't have enough time to apply for a new quarantine pass 😡

TLDR : Answer Summary
A traveler is concerned about how to reach the Sandbox programs in Thailand after arriving in Bangkok given the restrictions on flights. The community clarifies that direct transit to Phuket from Bangkok is not allowed; one must complete a quarantine in Bangkok first. Updates suggest changes in the regulations regarding quarantine and entry, indicating that travelers approved for the Test & Go program can potentially modify their arrival dates. Further discussions reveal that as of now, there is no cut-off date for those already approved for travel.

yes...

🔴 IMPORTANT UPDATE: I have just been informed by my source in the Consular Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs that Thailand Pass holders using Test & Go can now change to an earlier arrival date. You just need to write to them with the details. Email

or if you’re going to Phuket

.

I’ve been told that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs really hopes that everyone who successfully applied for Test & Go will be allowed to enter no matter when that is. They, nor the TAT, want a cut off date. The situation is still being assessed. We might hear something on Sunday. Hopefully it will be good news for everyone.

I just want to finish this post by say there is currently NO cut off date to arrive in Thailand despite what you may have read in the media. This date is still being discussed. The MFA tell me there may not even be a date. People arriving in the next week are safe for sure. The CCSA are still assessing whether to allow Test & Go people to arrive after 15th January without having to do quarantine. More news soon.

Good luck!

🔴 UPDATE: The CCSA has just confirmed that although new registrations for Test & Go remain suspended, travellers who have already been approved can enter Thailand according to the conditions and on the date they requested, until this order changes. There is NO cut off date.

Sorry, but your first assumption is incorrect … you will not be flying into BKK any time after 15 Jan unless you don’t mind completing hotel quarantine before exploring further. (edited)

@Mike ******
how? Is the airport closing?

@Charlie ********
No, announced last week and confirmed today, the test & go scheme will be suspended after 15 Jan. After that, you can still fly to BKK, but you’ll have to complete hotel quarantine before moving on to anywhere else in the country (apologies, I assumed you were hoping to avoid quarantine). Good luck.

Can you not contact your airline and change your outbound flight to Phuket, qatar emirates and some European airlines fly to Phuket

@Adam *******
I thought about that but if I change flight the Test and Go is gone and there is still a small chance 🤞🙏 It's not over till yer man on the podium sings 🤣🤣 You gotta laugh or you'd cry 🙄 I'm coming for a long haul so if I have to do 7 days so be it just as long as they give us enough warning to get the AQ Pass.😶

@Charlie ********
yeah I know what your saying, you’re one of luck ones that are going for the long haul so even though the quarantine will be difficult it won’t really affect the time your going for. It does say you should get your Thailand pass for the Phuket sandbox within 7 days so you’ll have time to apply for a new pass. Id just make the decision now to go the sandbox route and contact your airline to change your outbound flight and apply for a new Thailand pass. But that’s me mate good luck with what ever you chose

Zero fucks given by the government I can’t fly direct to sandbox as my hub airport is bkk for work.
Stuart *********
You can’t transit to Phuket via Bangkok. You have to fly into Phuket from abroad. If landing in Bangkok it’s AQ quarantine hotel for

days.

I'm the same. Best to look up SHA+ Hotels and email the hotel directly not through a site. They should have a package price which includes your transport from airport, your stay and maybe tests but you might have to book them separately. After you pay them they send you conformation letter to use for sending for your Pass. I'm not sure what hotels are best but I'm sure somebody on here has already used one or knows one.

The Sandbox Program is limited to some islands that let you go out and about for a week which you cannot do in Pattaya but other 2 options should be OK as you are in your room only from airport.

@Charlie ********
ok

Thanks for your help again

Such a pain

nightmare. Good Luck. I've git my toes crossed for Test and Go being OK on 19th or I'm on the 7 day quarantine which I intend to be doing around Pratumnak or Jomtien if utterly comes to it 😤

🤞🤞for you

@Stuart ********
silly question

If u quarantine in bkk for 7 days

U can go on to pattaya ??

Sorry if it’s a dumb thing to ask
Charlie *********
ORIGINAL POSTER
@Neil **************
yes. Test and Go is 1 day. Sandbox is 7 in selected islands where you can go out round the island only then leave if negative. AQ quarantine is 7 or 10 days depending on your vaccines and you have to stay in the room. If you test positive during any of these options I believe it all changes and your off to quarantine no matter.
Neil ***************
@Charlie ********
I have had 2 vaccines and booster.so can go to pattaya and do the 7 day quarantine in hotel room there?

Thanks for helping
Charlie *********

@Neil **************
you can probably quarantine in Pattaya
Neil ***************
@Charlie ********
for the 7 days ?
Charlie *********

@Neil **************
aye its the Sandbox you can't do. Sandbox let's you out of room and dander about whereas quarantine you are stuck in room and they bring food to your door for 7 days. Check out hotels for this as they provide transport from airport in cost. I'm doing my test and go in Pratumnak
Neil ***************
@Charlie ********
so in pattaya you can do the 7 days quarantine.stay in your room

And in Phuket for

Example you do the sandbox and u can move around the island.

Sorry again for being dumb

All very confusing

Keep changing things all the time

Charlie *********

@Charlie ********
unfortunately yes. Those arriving after the 15th have been left in the lurch.
