Okay. Starting again. I fly into bkk early next month. Was told and sold a sandbox hotel despite now learning no such program existed. Can I fly into bkk anyway and if so what is the process for quarantine there? Thank you for your help.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquires about entering Bangkok with a previously booked sandbox hotel, which is no longer available. As of now, travelers must undergo a 7-day quarantine in approved hotels upon arrival in Bangkok. However, potential changes to these regulations are expected soon, with discussions about possibly reinstating a test-and-go system that would allow more freedom shortly after arrival. For a more flexible option, flying into Phuket is recommended, where travelers can explore the island after receiving a negative PCR test.

If you're in a hurry to get things sorted book to Phuket. it's by far the easiest way and place least likely to change. Currently you have to do 7 days on the island at a designated hotel but you're free to roam the island as soon as you get your first negative PCR back (normally about 6 hours after arrival). Bangkok is currently 7 days full board in a hotel that you can't leave. As others have stated there should be an update later as to whether that's being relaxed and a return to test & go but that may not be introduced immediately even if they do okay it

Currently flying in to Bangkok you need to do 7 days quarantine in an approved hotel. That may change tomorrow as the government are having a meeting about whether to bring back the test and go.
