Is it possible to fly directly into Phuket for Thailand Pass 'test and go' after changing my flight itinerary from Montreal via Zurich to Phuket?

I have my SHA+ hotel already booked in Phuket, and wanted to do "test and go" there.

However, my current flight booking is Montreal -> Zurich -> Bangkok -> Phuket (all on one ticket). I learned recently that this is not permitted, as the flight has to be directly into Phuket (and not via Bangkok or any other city in Thailand).

If I'm able to change my flight to

Montreal -> Zurich -> Phuket, will this be ok to meet the requirements of Thailand pass for "test and go" there.

My other option is to spend the first night in Bangkok and then fly to Phuket on the next day. But i would prefer the first option (fly directly into Phuket) if it meets the requirements of Thailand pass.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquired about changing their flight itinerary to comply with Thailand's 'test and go' requirements, seeking clarification on whether flying directly into Phuket from Zurich would meet the Thailand Pass conditions, especially since they initially booked a flight that transits through Bangkok. There was some confusion over transit regulations and potential acceptance of their Thailand Pass despite their original itinerary.

OK, now I am really confused.... I had applied for my Thailand pass last Sunday with the itinerary Montreal -> Zurich -> Bangkok -> Phuket.

After applying, I read online that my Thailand pass would be declined, because I was transiting by Bangkok on the way to Phuket. I was told that the quarantine in the SHA+ hotel had to be done in the first port of entry in Thailand.

However, Now I have just received my Thailand Pass approval, even with an itinerary whereby I am passing through Bangkok on the way to Phuket.

Do I run a risk that I will not be permitted to board the plane to Phuket (from Bangkok), even if my Thailand pass has been approved?

: I had to change my flight to stay one night in Bangkok. I'm flying out in 2 weeks.

Hi Piero, a friend of mine has a similar situation, just wondering if you've travelled yet, and how that worked out for you. Thanks in advance for any info 🙂

Both of your alternate options are acceptable but you'd have to change your ticket in both cases

I’m

Not sure u will be able to do that if your final destination is Phuket as your luggage will still be onboard and your ticket will say Phuket

Im pretty sure you can transit via BANKOK as long as it’s a pre booked flight from abroad and not a separate demostic flight from bkk - Phuket

one night “test and go” in Bangkok would be fine.

: For the option of staying in Bkk, my idea was to change the flight from BKK to Phuket to the following day. This way the luggage stays with me.

they have been preparing an international transit area since September but still no official announcement. I had to cancel my BKK to HKT segment

I booked a first night at lohas residence.

Like other SHA+ hotel, they will send you a letter of acceptance that says the duration of stay and pcr-rt test package. You have to prepay by credit card or bank transfer. They weren't very responsive on expedia or other booking platforms but they reply within an hour or two on their business email.

There's a list of sha+ hotels that is maintained here

It's better to communicate directly with the hotel once you want to confirm and prepay
