For the first Visa OA how put 800000b on an account bank Thai ??

Then, to have an account bank Thai you must to have a visa long stay, no tourism…

I live currently in New Caledonia and plane to move in Hua Hin next year.

Thanks and have a nice day every body.

TLDR : Answer Summary
To apply for a Visa OA while living abroad, it's essential to demonstrate that you have 800,000 THB in your bank account. You can provide your home country bank’s statement when applying for the visa. While you can start the process from abroad, you may need a Thai bank account, which some banks will allow you to open on a tourist visa; it's advisable to visit multiple branches if necessary. Additionally, health insurance is required for obtaining the visa. Once you arrive in Thailand, you might consider converting your visa to a marriage visa if applicable.

The easiest way is to apply online to the Thai Embassy through their portal. If I remember I only had to show them one bank balance summary from my European account. It was a very easy process. I received my visa within 7 working days. A Non O. Arrived in Thailand within 60 days. Went to my local Immigration Office to register my Thai address 100THB again very easy. While in the office got the application to convert my visa to a marriage. Went to my local SCB opened an account in my name only. That was about it. I found the Royal Thai Immigration office very helpful and understanding. Here the portal link:

merci pour ces informations. Et autre question sous-jacente, une fois obtenu mon visa OA en ligne puis-je pendre un billet avion aller simple ?. Car j’ai lu que le billet retour était demandé à l’embarquement

Yes, once your non OA visa is approved you can come here on a one way ticket without any issues. It's exactly how we as a family came here 3 years ago.

no you can get the medical insurance here. This is my live stream from last Sunday. If you go to the 'description' there is a health insurance link. I use this company and Hammer Time Insurance Brokers are excellent.

You can open a bank account on a tourist visa, or even visa-exempt. I opened mine 2021 with Bangkok Bank.

Arrive here either on a tourist visa or visa exemption and apply for your non-o in Thailand. No mandatory insurance requirements will make it much cheaper.

800k banked

3900thb 15 month visa cost

Walk to a different branch. Many people open accounts on tourist visa. Tell them what you are doing and bring many documents...its usually a bit of negation..search the group for bank account posts... There are many.

And if you really have an Non imm. O-A visa, you get an extra year of stay if you leave Thailand and come back just before the Visa expires ! Still no need for a Thai bank account. Only a health insurance for that year. Watch out, should you want to leave and come back in that extra year, you need a re-entry permit !

You can only get a Non-OA visa in your home country and that doesn't require funds in a Thai bank at all so I'm going to assume you mean a Non-O visa. You enter on a tourist visa then find a bank that will open an account for you every bank branch is different so you just need to keep trying them until one says yes. Once you have the funds in the bank you can apply for the visa, assuming you have at least 15 days left on your current stamp

You can only get the OA retirement visa in your home country, your passport country. You use your home country bank statement showing you have the equivalent of at least bt800,000. You can extend this OA visa inside Thailand, with the bt800,000 in your Thai bank account after the initial first year, but you can not get a new OA visa inside Thailand. You also have the same health insurance requirement.

@Kool ******
two years of mandatory level insurance costs vs no mandatory requirements. It's a no-brainer if you are willing to put 800k in a Thai bank, which he is...
Kool *******
@Lyndon ***********
so you are recommending that he not get health insurance, gambling on him not ever needing it. That is bad advice, no matter what the visa requirements are.

@Kool ******
can't you get health insurance later, like a week after arrival?

b paid each month into the Thai account that I could have opened in Thailand with my OA visa. For the insurance I will have planned everything in order to be covered as best as possible, don't worry!...

Thanks a lot for your answer

language barriers permitting... There's a lot of potential misunderstanding here...
Lyndon ************
@Kool ******
I haven't said 'not to get insurance', have I. Stop with your BS. I've recommended a more appropriate and cost effective route to his visa. What insurance cover he wants is his choice.
Lyndon ************
@Kool ******
not the same insurance requirement at all... Non-oa requires ongoing mandatory insurance, a non-o acquired in Thailand, has no requirement.
Kool *******
@Lyndon ***********
there is a health insurance requirement in order to originally get the type OA retirement visa in your home country. If you extend this visa inside Thailand it has the same health insurance requirement as getting it originally. You can not extend it without health insurance.
Lyndon ************
@Kool ******
which is why the oa is a bad choice and the wise advice is to get a non-o IN Thailand. No requirement for insurance...
Kool *******
@Lyndon ***********
actually it is very bad advice suggesting that a person not have health insurance.
Lyndon ************
@Kool ******
his level of cover or not with an in-country non-o is his choice. The mandatory insurance can be very expensive with many finding annual costs are well over 100k as they get older, for cover they don't want. Hence the visa advice pages are littered with posts from people desperate to get off their non-oa, which they can no longer afford.... Crap advice of the first order if they are willing to bank the required funds in Thailand, which he states he wants to do...
Robert **********
@Lyndon ***********
if you buy thai insurance it wont cover preexisting conditions, they will raise, cancel you or exclude the conditions if you make a claim, and the amount you’re likely to get for a serious illness is little more than your annual premium. Its fine to say everyone needs health insurance but its not that easy
Lyndon ************
@Robert *********
he can have whatever insurance he wants. What does your comment have to do with his visa type?
Robert **********
@Lyndon ***********
it evolved into a discussion of insurance, and therefore the merits of the OA visa.
Lyndon ************
@Robert *********
he can still have whatever insurance he wants on a non-o. Nowhere in the thread is anyone talking about the merits of different insurance companies

@Lyndon ***********
once you've got the bt800,000 in your Thai bank account it's actually pretty easy to switch over to a type O visa extension. You just leave the country, and return, without a re-entry permit, then apply for a new type O extension. The difficult part, and getting harder everyday, is coming in on a tourist visa, or visa exempt stamp, and getting a new Thai bank account. By initially getting the OA visa in the OPs case this eliminates that problem, as he's got the needed retirement visa in order to get a Thai bank account easily. In his case the initial OA visa has a lot less hassle for him initially trying to get a bank account, and meet the timeline requirement. Getting the OA first gives him almost two full years to get everything in order, and whether he has an OA visa, or not, has no bearing on what his health insurance will cost. It's the same either way, and the older he gets the more of a requirement it gets for his personal wellbeing and comfort.

@Kool ******
where have I said that? 'Not to have insurance'

They will accept your own bank the first time.
