Hi. If I apply for a non-immigrant OA from my own country does the 800k need to be in a Thai bank account or can I just prove funds equal to that amount in bank accounts in my own country?

When applying for a Non-Immigrant OA visa from your home country, you can provide proof of funds in your own bank accounts, and there is no requirement to have the funds in a Thai bank account at the time of application.

Are you confusing the O visa and the OA visa. Neither require funds in a Thai bank if you apply for them in your home country. If you apply for the O visa inside Thailand you need funds in a Thai bank. Additionally the O visa is only for 90 days and you need to extend it at immigration inside Thailand which also requires funds in a Thai bank
