mentioned this was a good option if I can travel to a consulate outside of SE Asia (Europe, USA, etc).

It was thought about last year in november, and was being considered. Given the current climate. I wouldnt hold your breath waiting for it to become reality.

Why when the current reality is a massive reduction in tourist numbers due to the Coronavirus. There R loads of cheap flights to be had now, discounts to be had at hotels & resorts, the Baht is weakening. If anybody does a land border visa run just now immigration will probably welcome them back in with open arms.Reply to
