Hi all, has anyone got advice on the best route to apply for the new long stay tourist visa?

Currently in the UK waiting to return, UK embassy’s have next to no updated information, if you are lucky enough to get hold of them on the phone.

Any help appreciated.

Cheers

TLDR : Answer Summary
The post seeks advice on the application process for the new long stay tourist visa to Thailand while currently in the UK. Responses mention that the processing might be done by appointed agencies and specify that the application fee is around 10,000 Baht. It's noted that only certain countries will be included initially, likely starting with China. There are suggestions to consider applying for an O-A visa at the London embassy for those over 50, and links to further information were shared.

There is no information available as of yet. It will only be certain countries initially though and it looks like China first. I have read the processing is outsourced to an agency and the application fee is 10k Baht.

I've emailed them last week, they replied: "Thank you very much for sending us your information. Your information has already been registered in our system. Once we are able to officially start processing your application, we will update you as soon as possible."

So not sure what will happen next.

guess all we can do is wait, this part: "Once we are able to officially start processing your application" I particularly don't like, I thought STV was already official.

ok so please tell me where I can find a list of low risk countries approved by gov ??

@Adam *****
, no official list as yet, and even if there is, a list would be subjected to changes based on changing conditions on the ground. Example, Australia except Victoria.
