Has anyone in Bangkok with a DTV visa managed to get the Residence Certificate easily (for Thai driving license)? I’m currently in Bangkok on a DTV visa (arrived since a few days) and I’m planning to apply for a Thai driving license. From what I understand, the key document is the Residence Certificate issued by Immigration. Has anyone here (with a DTV visa) successfully obtained it in Bangkok? Thanks a lot in advance!

TLDR : Answer Summary
Many expats with a DTV visa in Bangkok report varying experiences in obtaining a Residence Certificate for a Thai driving license. Key suggestions include obtaining a Resident Address Certificate from your embassy, preparing necessary documents, and possibly having a TM30 form. While some have found the process straightforward, others have faced challenges at immigration offices.
I hope you have better luck than me I applied in bueng kan immigration yesterday for residency certificate to renew my driving licence i have dtv they told me no chance
To apply for a Thai driving license, you'll need to obtain a Resident Address Certificate
Simply just Visit your embassy and request a resident address certification. This document confirms your address in Thailand and is required for the driving license application.
It’s very easy process. There’s a list of documents you need to take to get the residence certificate. Find out that list. And prepare it all. Pay the money. And it’ll be done.
Won’t matter what visa you’re on. Aslong as you prepare the bits they need. May be a photocopy of your entry stamp. Been a while since I did it.
