How do I transfer my DTV visa to a new passport?

I just transferred the visa DTV stamp.
You should go to the immigration office and ask for stamp transfer,
Bring both passport,
You need a copy of your TM30
As well a copy of your DTV VISA paper
And stamp DTV in your old passport
And take a copy of the first page of your both passport it's easy

I asked the Thai embassy who gave me the DTV. They told me the official way is to carry both passports and they can not transfer the visa.

I arrived last year with my new passport, old passport, and the copy of my DTV. Went to the counter at Phuket Airport and the IO moved my DTV in the computer to my new passport. I asked if I need to present my old passport and she said no long needed, everything is now on new passport. I always carry it just in case but they moved the info over. And there was no charge. I have been in and out and used only my new passport and DTV with no issues.

I will renew my passport soon so shall I transfer it to new ( renewal because of pages exhausted ) I will be given back my passport after renewal ( old marked as cancelled but visa remains valid )

I lost my passport after getting approved for DTV, I had to write a statement canceling my old DTV, and applied for a new one under new passport. No issues, took less than a week to get new visa.

I did for the first couple of trips I brought my old passport but after those DTV stamps in my new passport it was ok, I think they put notes in their system. This is going to be a common issue.

You only have an entry stamp in your passport, not a visa stamp. Just carry your old passport to show the IO when you enter next time, and they will simply stamp the 180 days into your new passport

That’s why you must carry your old passport to show the IO. Immigration know that people have to get a new passport at some point, and as long as you have the old one with you, showing the last DTV stamp, and of course your visa print out, then it will not be a problem

I did it about a year ago and it was dead simple. Just bring your old passport, new passport, and a copy of your DTV and immigration will put a new stamp in your new passport with all the details.

You are right, they only transfer the stamp, not the visa.A strict IO can still ask for the old passport, but IO can also accept only the new passport because the previous stamp shows the relation to the old passport, but it is not a guarantee.

Not true. I had it done at Phuket Airport upon arrival last year. They did it right at the counter when I entered. The IO said I no longer needed to present my old passport but I always carry it anyways.Luit *****************

why not just print out the paper copy of the visa and carry it with you through immigration. those of us who didn’t do in person applications never even got that sticker for the passport.

That is not an answer to the question of OP. Printing and carrying the visa is not transferring it.The visa is valid in combination with the old passport, so you should bring the old passport to show a valid visa and the new passport as a valid travel document.
