Not quite a Visa question, but still related..

I have everything I need to get a residency card, (I even found the application form online - hooray!), but where do I TAKE it all to be processed?

Thanks everyone. =)

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking information about where to take their residency card application for processing. They clarified that they mean a certificate of residency necessary for obtaining a driver's license, opening a bank account, and registering a car. Respondents point out that some immigration offices only issue this certificate to individuals on long-term visas and detail associated costs, suggesting that it is often found in immigration offices throughout Thailand.

In Bangkok at the immigration office they're 200 baht and they mail it to you in about 2 weeks.

Supposed to be free BUT, you'll pay 500 baht for it for next day turnaround (at least in CM you do). You'll also need a photo, passport (and copies) and bring a lease if you have one. There is typically a little shop that will do all this for you at immigration for the usual fees ;).

So, having said all of that - what's the cost for the Certificate of Residency?

@Chris******
, sorry I spoke too soon, I just called them and they said notary service on stat decs are 1710 baht :O

Of course they did...! *facepalm

the down side is the Oz consulate here in Bangkok raised their notary service prices from 600 baht to I think 1450 baht or something astronomically high now.

Some immigration offices won't issue a certificate of residence unless you are on a long term extension of stay :/ I know bangkok won't issue them to people on 30 day visa exempt stamps or tourist visas

No, I meant certificate of residency.. so I can get a Thai license, open a bank account, register a car, etc.

@Chris******
, correct., driver's license, selling a vehicle, etc, all the things the immigration office letter works for a notarized stat dec from your consulate works for too.

@Tod ********
- Are you saying that if I get a stat dec from Bangkok, it works IN PLACE of a residency certificate for everything?
Tod *********
@Pa**
, that is not correct, :/ australians can go to their consulate here in Bangkok and get a Statutory Declaration (Stat dec) where they write down they live here and put their address. It's accepted as proof of address for everything

Antonio is right, he is Australian like me and will only get one from Immigration.
Tod *********
Antonio, you can get a certificate of residence from your country's consulate here in thailand. The US embassy charges $50USD to issue one. Most consulates here offer them

Antonio Ciampitti right!

Antonio Ciampitti wrong!

okay you can get one from the immigration office in your area

OR you can get one from your consulate.

Are you asking about getting a certificate of residency so you can get a driver's license or somethjing

Are you asking about filing a TM.30 <- Notification of foreigner in residence

Are you asking about a 90 day report

I have absolutely no idea what a residency card is :/

same ??
Tod *********
Okay, first off what exactly is a "residency card"?
