I entered Phuket on Dec 2 from Canada and have a stamp until Jan 15 2023 on 45 day visa free entry.

I’d like to extend for 1900 bht for 30 days before I leave a few days and come back.

Just want to know how soon I can go to immigration office to do that and what I need to bring?

Do I need some proof of where I live? (Tm 6 or tm30?)

Do I need proof of a flight leaving by middle of February?

Passport and anything else?

Where do I need to go? Patong? I’m staying near Phuket airport

TIA

If I go without photocopies of my passport page, will they make a copy there?

@Michael ************
there are copy shops near most immigration offices, that have the forms, take the photo, make the copies,

You say you want to extend before you leave and return, in that case you wouldn't need an extension, you'd be stamped in for an additional 45 days upon arrival. What is your current permission to stay stamp date and when do you plan to leave and return to Thailand? Whatever stamp you have when you depart thailand is cancelled and you theoretically can't use it to re-enter.

well spotted,

what is the purpose of getting a 30 day extension and then LEAVING thailand? As Wannikea pointed out, just leave and when you come back you'll get a new 45 day visa exempt entry stamp

sorry, let me clarify. I’m staying in Thailand Dec 2 - April 30

I need to leave mid February.

Current entry is until Jan 15

Will extend by 30 days before Jan 15

Go out of Thailand middle of February and come back in until April 30 with another 45+30

Question: can I apply for Jan 15 extension now? Or when do i apply?

@Michael ************
okay that makes much more sense. Sorry for being thick and not understanding what you were doing. That is a totally workable plan.

You can apply for the 30 day extension when you have 30 days or less left on your current stamp, so any time AFTER Dec 16th 🙂

thanks!

Do I need TM30 to extend or not?

Phuket doesn't require TM30's for 30 day extensions on visa exempt entries.

You can use the main Phuket immigration office, the one at Blu Tree water park or the one in Patong.

Fill out form TM7 (available at the office)

Copy passport data page (signed by you)

Copy of entry stamp (signed by you)

Copy of your visa - either the sticker in your passport or pdf evisa (the former signed by you). * if you had one.

Copy of TM6 departure card (signed by you) *if you were issued one - if you entered by air after July ‘22 you wouldn’t have been given one so leave the space on the form blank.

Passport

Passport photo (most offices have facilities on site or nearby)

1,900 baht

You can do exempt extensions at the main Phuket Town office (approx 45 minutes), Patong (approx 30 minutes) or Blue Tree (approx 20 minutes).

Phuket does not require a TM30 filed, nor flight details for 30 day tourist visa or exempt extensions.
