Can I get a 60-day extension on my visa after a 30-day extension in Thailand?

Hello,

I’m from Poland. Arrived in Phuket on 29th October (Phuket Sandbox). I got 30 days permission - visa exception. Today I was in emigration offices, filled COVID form but they extended my permission for next 30 days. I thought that it will be 60 days and I filled 60 days in the form.

Is possible that I did something wrong or this is normal now that extend of entry is only 30 days?

Will I be able to get another 30/60 days extension?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user, a Polish national, initially received a 30-day permission upon arrival in Phuket under the Sandbox Scheme. After visiting the immigration office and filling out a COVID form, they received an extension of the same length. The user inquires whether it is normal to only receive a 30-day extension instead of the anticipated 60 days, and whether they can still apply for another extension. A commenter suggests returning to the immigration office to request a 60-day extension again, based on experiences with other nationalities receiving consecutive extensions.

Most immigration offices will insist that you first get your 'standard' 30 days extension if you are eligible for it (Polish passports are). I suggest you just go straight back tomorrow and ask for 60 days covid extension again, you'll likely get it.

I've seen a report today of Ukrainian passports getting straight normal 30 days + covid 60 days extensions back to back within like 1 hour, also in Phuket.

I was talking about the passports that are eligible for a normal (non-covid) 30-day extensions of their visa-less stamp. Not sure why you want to know this, but Philippines are indeed eligible for it.

Although it has no relation whatsoever to thai pass, getting into the country etc. It's just the question of 1) would you get a covid extension straight away or will you need to get 30 days 'normal' first and 2) will you be able to extend for 'normal' 30 days after covid stamps are gone.

as long as it's before his current permission to stay expires.

I just found “60 day Covid extension application scheme extended to Dec 31st 2021” I got 30 days extend in Pattaya today. They did not ask any questions. Just paid and got stamp. Do you recommend to try get extension in the same office?

As of today's news, there's no reason for you to hurry anywhere as the covid extension program has been prolonged until 25.01, so you can take your time and then decide where and when you want to get your covid extension.

as far as we know at this time the 60 day covid program to be continued to Dec 31st has been passed by the thai cabinet but not signed off on or published <- it's not official yet

thank you! If I go tomorrow and they accept it, will I get 30+60 days or they will change 30 days for 60 days?

in most offices, if you change your reason for extension (from tourist to Covid for example) the 60 day Covid extension starts the day you apply, and you lose any days on your existing stamp. So you wouldn't get 30+60, you just get 60 days from the day you apply. But if you applied for another Covid extension, that would get added onto the end of your existing Covid extension.

They should add 60 days to the 30 that you already got - supposedly, at least that's what I've seen in that report - people got stamped straight to 25.02.2022 lol.
