What are the current options for visa runs in Thailand during Covid, and can I get an extension on my multiple entry visa?

Hello,

I have a question that I hope someone might have experience with. I have a multiple entry visa (issued back in Copenhagen by the Thai embassy), meaning I can stay 2 months, then leave and come back for 2 months. But I don't know if I should arrange a trip out of Thailand myself or if there are any of those arranged visa runs available now doing Covid. Have anyone done a visa run recently and can recommend the best process?

March 17th is last day for me on the first 2 months.

Thank you so much!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is inquiring about the options available for visa runs due to the ongoing Covid-19 restrictions, as they have a multiple entry visa allowing them to stay for two months at a time. Responses indicate that currently, visa runs are not available since land borders are closed, but they can apply for a 30-day extension without leaving the country. Additionally, there's a possibility for a further extension based on Covid-19 travel issues at the local immigration office.

If you indeed have a 6 month Multi-Entry Tourist Visa it's the bouncing out and back that make that a tough visa to use (since the covid shit show closed most of the nearby countries and all the land borders of thailand)

I DO know people who flew out and back to Cambodia, BUT you need to meet the entry requirements to get IN to Cambodia (and by an eVisa online before you go) as well as meet the entry requirements to get back in to Thailand (appproved thai pass, 50K USD covid insurance, booked test&go, sandbox or AQ, negative RT-PCR test etc.

It is not an easy endeavor using that visa effectively at this time. NOW if the borders open up as they are expecting (March some time) it won't be so bad but let's see what happens

Thank you so much for clarifying. I might just hope for restrictions to diminish in near countries in March🤞🏻Otherwise the extension is a good option🙂

as people pointed out, IF you haven't taken the ONE 30 day 'regular' extension yet from that 60 day entry stamp you can do that for 1900baht, and IF you already took it you might be able to apply for a 60 day covid extension (at the discretion of the officer) BUT other than those two options you need to exit/re-enter to get another 60 day entry stamp from that visa.

Visa runs aren't available as all the land borders are currently closed. But if you go to your local Thai immigration office you should be able to get (one) 30 day extension to your initial 60 days stamp without leaving the country. You can then review the situation in April
