Can anyone advise the easiest & fastest place to get a non-immigrant visa on a Brritish passport please? Just tried in Beijing but it was an administrative disaster & after saying it would take 4 days then changed to next Tuesday before it could be issued. Thanks in advance.

TLDR : Answer Summary
A British passport holder is inquiring about the quickest and most efficient location to obtain a Non-Immigrant visa after encountering issues at the Beijing consulate. Comments suggest that with the right documentation, other Thai consulates in Southeast Asia might be easier, and there's also a question about obtaining a visa in Laos.

Another question as we need to be in HK on

for business but invitation letter expires before. Any idea if it will be possible/easy to obtain in Laos or Vientiane?

The agent has said we need the non-immigrant visa in order to then be issued with work permit (sorry my error there) once back in Bangkok. Does that make sense?

, there is no such thing as work visa :/

The 90 day Non-Immigrant Type B <-(business) visa IS what you need along with a work "permit" to work in thailand.

90 day Non B is good for that.

Vientiane. As long as all your papers are in order. Go as early as possible. They're open 8:30am to 11:30am for visa applications. Collect your passport the next day at 1:30pm. They accept Thai Baht.

Okay, so you're wanting a 90 day Non-Immigrant Type B <- (business) visa so you can work here.

I'd say IF you have all the documentation required from the company you're going to be working for almost any other thai consulate in S/E Asia would probably work.

Oops. Sorry. It is in order to obtain a work visa. Already approved by company but need to get this visa & then they said work visa could be issued in Thailand in 3-4 days.
