Hello everyone! I would like to ask questions in regarding to obtaining Non-Immigrant B visa for two US citizen friends. First person will be working in Thailand as an employee at the company. Second person will be working as a partial business owner of the same company.

1. Is it better to apply for visa in the US before their arrival in Thailand or can they apply in other country like Laos or Malaysia?

2. What documents do they need to submit with visa application, invitation letter and/or employment contract?

Any helps/advices would be greatly appreciated, thank you!

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user is seeking advice on the application process for a Non-Immigrant B visa for two US citizens: one will work as an employee and the other as a partial business owner in Thailand. They are unsure whether to apply for the visa in the US or in neighboring countries like Laos or Malaysia and what documentation is required for the application.

It sounds strange but not all Thai consulates and embassies using the same requirements. Best is to go to their websites and read these requirements.

So true. We have been researching several places and their requirements are rather confusing. I was hoping that someone here who are in the same situation might have done it before and could give some advices.

The person who will be an employee of the company should have the company do their visa

That’s great to know and thank you so much for sharing. In that case, they would need to have the employer prepared all those needed documents beforehand to take with them then. Thanks again for your help!

Phetladavone Lamlong Thongphay when I got my job over here, they, the company, sent me everything I needed and said go to Thai consulate in your country with this printed out. Many documents, tax docs, bank docs, etc for the company. Official job offer signed by company and me. It is fairly easy and the company should provide everything you need.

After arrival, the company will take them to immigration with more paper work and get them their work permit and yearly visa.
