How can I change a Non-O visa to a multi-entry visa if I can't stay in Thailand for the required 60 days?

Non 0 multi entry marriage visa.

Need a bit of help. I work 28/28 day rotation and need a bit of help with the new Non 0 EVISA.

Previously I was able to turn my non 0 into a multi entry easily now I have been told with the new EVISA you need to stay in thailand for 60day cooling period before you can change to multi entry.

Unfortunately I can not do that due to leaving for work after 28days in country.

Does anyone know a way to change the non 0 to multi entry after onky being 28days in thailand

I faced the same issue so I just took a trip off and applied for an extension of stay towards the end of the 90 days with multiple entry

same boat here brother it's not as easy as I was telling you before mate since the new e visa has shafted us all out of the multi entry .....I was even thinking of changing to dtv because it's such a pain in the ass

I am exactly in the same situation. Tod explained it very well. So far i couldn't manage to get the timing right and asking so many times for new E-visa.... It's such a complicated bureaucracy

I think that a problem might be the immigration coming to your residence for the interview..??? Timing wise??

not all offices do home visits, but he can talk to them when he applies for the year extension and hopefully coordinate it for when he's here (if they do need to visit)

I don't believe you were able to previously change a single entry non-obisa into a multi entry easily.

I think what you could do was buy a year-long, multi-entry, non-ovis from a Thai consulate and then every time you came in during the year it was valid for you got 90 days.

Sadly multi entry visas for non-immigrant type O visa based on marriage were discontinued when the consulates worldwide went to online e-visa system.

You're really going to have to try to get your ducks in a row and your entry exit timed so that you will be able to apply for a year extension inside the country on the 90-day Non-O.

You would get the visa before you come here.

You would come in and get stamped in for 90 days, you would get your 400k in a Thai bank account in your name only,

you would buy a single reentry permit, you would leave and come back whenever you're supposed to and you'll be stamped in for the remainder of that initial 90 days,

when you have your funds in the bank for 2 months and you have 30 days or less left on your current 90-day stamp you could go to the immigration office and apply for a one-year extension based on marriage.

You will get a 30-day under consideration stamp, and buy another reentry permit. So you can exit reenter during the under consideration, and not lose everything you've done.

The timing part is that you have to be back before the under consideration stamp expires so you can get the year extension inked in.

After you got the year extension inked in you would buy a multiple reentry permit which would let you exit and enter the whole year without any issue

That's the only way you're going to pull it off and it's going to take you timing your entries exit and buying a reentry permit every time you need to leave and come back until you get the year extension.

It can be done, I know dozens of rotational workers who have jockeyed the timing and gotten this accomplished but it's going to take you having your ducks in a row to pull it off.

thanks a lot Tod!! Wow it’s quite complicated isn’t it 😩

which immigration you use?

If you reside in BKK then Chaengwattana office the “under consideration” period is only 21 days. So you can do the annual extension in one 28 days visit.

I know many many rotational workers who made the switch but it's going to take you paying attention to what you're doing, timing wise,

A multiple re-entry would not help you. The visa only gives you 3 months when you enter Thailand. Getting multiple re-entry will not change that your permission to stay in Thailand only lasts for 3 months. You need to get a 1-year extension and the re-entry permit on that if you want it for long term.

ahhh I understand!! It’s the 1 year extension that’s the problem for me. Once I have the 1 year the multi entry would be easy

@Ryan-Kristopher *******
right, that's the linchpin, you got to time the out/in w/re-entry permits so you can make it to where you can apply for the year extension and then get back in before the under consideration stamp runs out to get the year. After that you're in tall cotton, just get a multiple re-entry and you can come/go the whole year extension

but every year I will need to go through that all over again?
Tod *********
@Ryan-Kristopher *******
nope not the whole process again, once you get on the year extension every year you'll have to get a new yearly extension, which means apply when you have 30 days or less for a new year, get the under consideration stamp, get a re-entry permit, make sure you're back before that u/c stamp runs out to get the next year extension then get a multiple re-entry permit after that

Tod is it still possible to get the old style visa in Lao or Vietnam or is that finished with now
Brandon ************
@Ryan-Kristopher *******
no. Every Thai embassy and consulate now uses the e-visa system. It's the same everywhere.
