How can I cancel my business visa and work permit to enter Thailand using a DTV visa?

I now hold 2 visas and a work permit. The visa I have been using is a business visa, the "owns 49% of the company" kind. The work permit is associated with that visa.

I now have a DTV and I intend to enter Thailand using the DTV.

I need to cancel the business visa and work permit. Is that something I can do myself? What is the procedure for that?

TLDR : Answer Summary
To cancel your business visa and work permit while transitioning to a DTV visa in Thailand, you can perform the cancellation yourself. First, obtain a termination letter from your employer, then visit the labor office to cancel the work permit, followed by the immigration office to cancel your business visa extension. Procedures may vary by province, so it's advised to confirm requirements with both offices. Alternatively, if you hold a multiple-entry visa, only the work permit may need cancellation. According to users with similar experiences, the process appears straightforward but may involve some paperwork.

So, in summary, you have a Non-B Visa and Work Permit that both are not yet cancelled, then have a DTV Visa, and, today, made entry into Thailand with the DTV and got an entry stamp for 180 days under your DTV?

correct. And I have read about others doing the exact same.

Today I stamped in with DTV for 6 months. They saw the re-entry permit, dug deeper, saw b visa. Some discussion with supervisor. I told them I will cancel b visa asap and they seemed happy with that.

I had the identical to you, and easily switched the visa with Immigration to a retirement visa, and cancelling my work permit took one visit to the council offices and cost about 50 baht if I remember correctly.

How come when I ask about whether the DTV visa can be transferred to a renewed passport (a pretty relevant question, given the group), the admin deletes my question? Three times now, and I've never had an answer because of it.

Yes, If you have applied for a 1-year extension inside Thailand at the local immigration office, you have to cancel an extension and a work permit.

You can apply for cancellation of a work permit at the labour office and an extension at the issuer immigration office by yourself, but you need a letter from the employer.

In general, you go to the labour office to cancel your work permit by yourself as long as you get a termination letter from your employer then go to the immigration office to cancel an extension using the cancellation receipt of your work permit. But the order and details vary by province. Talk with both offices for details, especially what you need to cancel.

In a rare case, if you have a multiple-entry visa, you only need to cancel your work permit as the visa itself cannot be cancelled. In this case, talk with the immigration office to see if they can "void" that visa.

not related at all. Fake news. You can cancel extension and WP at different times. Usually is done this way

I got the visa first, then the wp a few days later. I expect the process to cancel is the reverse.

no cancel first extension,

, depends on the office. Some require you to cancel work permit first.

NOT true, these two processes are not related. You can cancel extension without canceling WP and vice versa, it is not related

he can't hold a work permit without a visa that allows him to do so

Thanks for your answer.

I am my employer. I own the Thai corp. I am the only employee. I am in Bangkok.

I'll write a letter to myself and give it a go.
