TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is inquiring about the publication status of the visa amnesty update in the Royal Gazette as of August. Comments indicate that, while it's not published yet, immigration authorities have communicated about it. There's advice to check directly with immigration offices and a suggestion to get a letter from the embassy for those unable to return to their home country.

If you cannot go home because your country is not safe, get a letter from your countries embassy to extend your visa.

The cabinet has officially approved it, now it's just a formality to set the type and publish it in the Royal Gazette.

@Wendy ******
. According to the poster it's extensions, not new visas, and you have to show "necessity" whatever that means!

that's why I want to know more details. I have expired non b, and want to stay in Thailand without leaving, cause I have a baby with me.

. I guess you apply for a non-B extension, if you have a job lined up?

usually if you find new job you need to exit Thailand and apply the non b visa outside thailand

. So I think that's where the "necessity" bit comes in. Go to immigration, take your documents, job offer/contract etc and see what they say. If they reject it, you still have plenty of time to arrange a flight home

. I don't think the Thai authorities are concerned about what's happening in other countries to be honest! I have Australian friends who can't get back to their home cities, so they're all having to fly to Sydney and look for ways from there.

I think she is alluding to the fact that the ‘poster’ states ‘outbreak situation’ as a viable reason for extension of stay.

. I guess you would address that matter with your home country government. I don't believe it would be the jurisdiction of Thai immigration! 🤣🤣🤣
