TLDR : Answer Summary
The post involves an inquiry from a user about whether their American boyfriend requires a visa to go to Burma and what actions to take due to his overstay in Thailand. Comments suggest that he will need a visa for Burma, which can be obtained online for $50. Regarding the overstay, responses indicate that he should pay a fine at the airport if the overstay is short, while a longer overstay could lead to blacklisting. There is also a discussion on whether he might face difficulties if he does not resolve the overstay before flying out.

You don’t need to have a problem, better to go to immigration office and pay the fine then leave. I believe in the immigration they will not stamp the passport that he was overstay. Only let him pay the fine that’s it

As Garrett Greenwald

Mention he won't get a visa extempt and he better hit the airport right away pay the overstay fly out and get a visa and even then he ain't sure if he would get denied entry that's the facts of overstaying

I believe everyone needs a visa to go to Burma. It isn't that difficult and only takes a few days. We did a few years ago. There is an express service that you pay extra and have it done the next day but couldn't remember how much. Sorry can't help about overstay.

Yes, need visa for Burma. If he is flying into Yangon he can do the visa online for 50$ at this website

How long is his overstay? If it is short then he can pay 500 bht per day at the airport. If it is a long overstay then he could get blacklisted. How many days over?

Might also want to make sure your boyfriend has more than enough money to pay the fine before going to airport, or it could get really messy for him.
