Can I apply for an extension of my Non-O visa in Phuket 45 days before it expires, and what insurance do I need for re-entry into Thailand?

I may have to travel outside or Thailand in June.

I have a Non-O with an extension based on marriage which expires in May.

Is it still correct that I can apply 45-days prior to expiration (Phuket immigration)?

I have private health insurance (10 million baht for me, 5 million for Thai wife) from a Thai insurance provider that covers Covid.

Will I need any other travel Covid insurance to re-enter Thailand?

Obviously nobody knows if Test and Go will still be the only way to enter but assuming it is, anything else I need to be concerned with?

TLDR : Answer Summary
You can apply for the extension of your Non-O visa based on marriage at Phuket immigration during the last 30 days before your current visa expires. Your private health insurance covers the necessary requirements, but it's best to confirm with your insurance provider about any additional needs for the Thailand Pass. After receiving your visa extension, remember to obtain a Re-Entry Permit if you plan to travel outside Thailand to maintain your visa status.

Correction, Phuket allows only during the last 30 days in case of marriage. Thanks Ellie for correcting me

Thanks. Good one to know 😉

Yes, you can apply in Phuket during the last 30 (edited) days.

No health insurance needed for the Extension of Stay, if the insurance covers the requirements of the Thailand pass is something you have to ask your insurance company.

As soon as the new Extension of Stay is stamped in your passport, you need a new Re-Entry Permit to keep this extension alive when travelling.

For the Thailand pass you need insurance for the period you will be stamped into the country.

Thanks. Looks like I’ll give the insurance company a shout.

Otherwise, I’ll need to have travel Covid insurance for 11-months when I re-enter, correct?
