TLDR : Answer Summary
The requirement for prepayment of hotel accommodation for a 60-day tourist visa in Thailand appears to vary by embassy. Some embassies require confirmed bookings but not prepaid accommodation. For the Special Tourist Visa (STV), a prepaid arrangement may be necessary for post-quarantine stays, but typically a standard tourist visa does not mandate that the accommodation be prepaid. Several commenters expressed frustration over the complexity of visa rules.

I not wasting my Time for nothing there. The World is big and Open free holidays.
yes, and probably why the rules keep changing. When ‘less than expected’ foreign tourist visited destinations in Thai, the rules keep getting softened. They could follow the model Florida has in the USA, just open up! Simple, get more trusted vaccine for Thai citizens, and foreign tourists coming to Thai fully vaccinated. Some Thai don’t trust China vaccine or the AstraZeneca vaccine.
what's difficult about Thailand pass rules. You have to get a test B4 you go... Same everywhere. You need insurance... That u should be happy to have. You need a passport.. that everyone needs. You have to stay in a sha plus hotel for 1 night.... You need your vax certificate that u can get on a website or phone and they send u it to your house. Flights have never been cheaper... Usually I pay 760 pd return now 550. All in I pay 860 to go , now 900 with hotel paid. Test on arrival included. It may be a little inconvenient but the UK was 14 days quarantine on arrival so it's not as if it's only Thailand . You will be waiting a long time if your waiting for no inconvenience
on holiday destinations. Maybe it's best you stay home, have a nice winter
yes, correct. Don't tell people it's difficult when it's not. If your not willing to shuffle a few forms around don't go. As I say have a nice winter. Stay safe.
I went two years ago I was not happy I could not go last year this year I got vaccinated even though I didn't want to just so I could go again and they make it so difficult
