Heya,

My understanding is that we have to book our full 60 days accomodation to be eligible for a tourist visa. When booking the accommodation it only allows to book under one name - my partner has booked.. will proof of this booking without my name be accepted? TIA

TLDR : Answer Summary
The requirement for booking accommodation for a Thailand tourist visa is a common concern among travelers. Most respondents indicate that only proof of the first booking is necessary, rather than full accommodation for 60 days. However, there are exceptions based on different embassies, with some individuals encountering stricter requirements. It is advised to confirm specifics with the relevant embassy and consider options like short-term bookings that can be canceled.

Just writing this comment for anyone else travelling from New Zealand - we aren’t as lucky as the commenters - the embassy have told me we 100% need the full 60 days accomodation in order to obtain a tourist visa.

Are you sure they aren't referring to the STV visa? That requires booking for your whole stay, but it's usually 90 days initially. If you absolutely must book, which is very weird for a regular tourist visa, there are hostels and really cheap dorm rooms that you can cancel, people have used those kinds of places before. Check Agoda/Booking.com etc.

They asked my for 7 days if hotels. I recieved my E-visa the next day. I think each embassy doesn't a bit different. Mine was Ottawa, Canada

Not correct for a tourist visa, just proof of first booking in most cases. Have your name added to your partner's confirmation and then you can use theirs.
