TLDR : Answer Summary
When performing a visa run in Thailand, whether you need to submit a new TM30 form can depend on the policies of your local immigration office. Many expats report that Jomtien and Phuket immigration offices require an updated TM30 upon re-entry into the country, even if you maintain the same address. Some individuals suggest it can be done online quickly to avoid potential fines later. However, there are differing experiences reported, with at least one person claiming they did not need to submit a new TM30 after returning. It's advisable to check with your specific immigration office to ensure compliance.

I had this exact issue today in Koh Phangan. TM30 was from last year. Visa run was 1 month ago. Even though I have stayed at the same place for 4 years and am probably still in the system, they wanted a printed TM30 from within the time since the last visa run
There is a fine for (no or) late submission of a TM30. The landlord is liable for the 1600B fine but it is not the landlord who is at the Immigration Office seeking a service that will ultimately end up paying it.
Even if you make trips inside Thailand you need it. I you stay in a hotel and your passport get registered there it means you have a new address
Its stupid but its an old law. So when you come back you need to register again.

Jomtien immigration now require the tm30 in your passport to be dated AFTER your latest arrival in the country so yes if you leave the country you now need to update your tm30. Recent change so understand why people are saying no. Other immigration offices may not need this.
you stated that you needed to do another tm30 when you did your 90 day report which is exactly what happened to me when I travelled domestically. There were no fines however, just a telling off.

Just do it online. Takes a couple of minutes and avoids a possible fine down the track.
In Chonburi Immigration office they now require a new TM30 anytime you reenter the country regardless of you returning to the same address. They are starting to issue fines to those who failed to do so.
don't worry about what other people say Peter. You know how the system works... 16 years. Even tm30 doesn't have to be done. All is fine if you know how. Cheers mate. Some people still don't get it after 10 years and I am not going to explain it to them again.
tm3o only needed for reporting address so if returning to same address so NO not needed as immigration will have his address when he does his next 90 day report 😉
Read the documents. If you leave Thailand, you report again. So simple. It has been since many years. It is now followed more. Don't share false immofrmation, idiot.
the only person spreading false information here is you. See what Brandon wrote - it depends on the immigration office. And just like Peter, I haven't had to refile TM30s after going overseas and I've asked Chiang Mai Immigration multiple times if I had to and they said no.
And as for "it has been since many years," read this change in 2020. Not all immigration offices implemented this but the change was not having to refile a TM30.
