Update re TM30. I went to Chonburi immigration and they confirmed that if the residence address is the same as before, even when re-entering Thailand with a new TM6, there is no need to file a new TM30.

TLDR : Answer Summary
Recent updates from immigration authorities in Chonburi indicate that if a foreign resident re-enters Thailand and their residence address remains the same, there is no need to file a new TM30 form. This has been confirmed by multiple expats, although some variations exist at different immigration offices, such as in Jomtien and Chiang Mai, leading to some confusion. Expats are advised to verify the requirements with their specific immigration office.

and we are done. Good luck on your TM30 adventures.

CHECK WITH YOUR IMMIGRATION OFFICE

There is a difference between submitting a NEW one (eg for change of address) & UPDATING an existing record held by Immigration. An update is still required when return to Thailand from abroad. This applies in Chiang Mai at any rate.

well I tried to update today after returning from Laos on Friday and was told I didn't need to as done before so hope it's ok, I would be more concerned if I never have done it if course. I have to say the place was very busy and many people stressing.

did you already have the receipt, normally if you have it already in the passport that sign/stamp it maybe update computer and you are on your way.

Of course if this the first visit if may be different, in fact he said to me today if done before don't need to do again ...so sort of makes sense

Hopefully it’ll be the same in Bkk too. I didn’t go file for tm30 after I did a border bounce last Thursday.

Chengwatana is too crowded these days.

So how long would this TM30 be valid for? Multiple re-entries?

thanx, that's excellent and saves people a LOT of needless re-reporting

REMEMBER PEOPLE this is Jomtien ONLY, check with your immigration office to see what their requirements are
