TLDR : Answer Summary
The DTV (Digital Nomad Visa) is a multiple entry visa valid for 5 years, allowing unlimited entries into Thailand. Each time you arrive in Thailand on this visa, you receive a new 180-day stamp. Therefore, if you leave Thailand and return, you will get another 180 days each time you enter.

No, you will get 180 days again, every time you enter the country for 5 years.

It's unlimited entries, and you get 180 days each time you enter.

so may I ask, if you exit after say 170 days, then return a few weeks later, you get another 180 days, therefore won’t need to apply for an extension? (Ps thanks for all your wisdom)

yep and this is not expensive for 5 years....

I have to buy each year a multi-entry stamp and cost me 3'800 baths each year.
