My partner and I are due to fly into Thailand on the 31st of March from Indonesia and fly back on our return ticket to Canada on April 20th I've been hearing rumors that Thailand may close the borders to all incoming flights... Is anyone else hearing this?

Right now, there is no change for Canadians entering Thailand. This could all change, Malaysia has just announced a total lockdown (no one in or out).

Its a day to day thing. Thai govt have already declared that anyone who overstays their visa here due to travel issues cause by virus outbreak wont be punished/fined.(but it needs to be genuine such as cancelled flights or closed borders)

We cannot stay in Indonesia past the 31st of March. Stupidly we did not pay for a Visa when we arrived and took the free one and so now no extension is possible. Does anyone know definitively if Thailand has stopped issuing visa on arrival. Just to be clear I'm not at all afraid of the Coronavirus I'm afraid of the Panic it's causing and the fact that it may make staying in Thailand or returning home difficult

@Fra***
they still issue visas on arrival except to the list of danger zone.its a list of countries which doesnt have canada in for now

Note all the stuff about visa on arrival wouldn't apply to you if you are Canadian, Canadians do not get a VOA but a visa exemption. These are two different programmes. Visa exemption suspension thus far was only mooted for Italy, South Korea, Hong Kong. And then they went back on that.

I would delay your trip if you can. Advice from ground zero.

You might want to focus on Canadian border policy. It may be wise to go back to Canada now. Totally sucks...

You are wise. I am staying in Thailand as well. Much better!

that's definitely the feeling I get... I'm not even that worried about getting back to Canada we have a line of credit and there are worse places to be stuck then koh-lanta. We're just keeping our fingers crossed we can get out of Bali and back into Thailand
