Hello,

I'm asking for some advice.

(The anxiety is kicking in.)

I will be travelling from the UK on the 9th July to Vientiane, loa. Then I'll be entering Thailand in the next few days.

The problem is that I'm flying through Bahrain and China on SELF TRANSFER / both airports (collecting my luggage and re-checking it on my onward flightS.

Do I need a visa for travelling through Bahrain and China now.

thank you in advance.

TLDR : Answer Summary
A UK citizen traveling from the UK to Vientiane with a self-transfer through Bahrain and China is seeking clarification on visa requirements for both stopovers. Various comments provide insights, noting that China offers a 7-day visa waiver, while advice regarding Bahrain suggests researching visa on arrival options and related documentation for a smooth transition.

hello mate, I'm a UK citizen - I've just look up on EVisa and Visa on Arrival through Bahrain. EVisa takes

working days, that's the super fast option / I'm far too late to apply. The Visa on Arrival states 6 Months on valid PP, Onward flight, Funds and accommodation. I'll be arriving at 8pm / flight leaves at 11pm - gives me 3 hrs, it'll be very tight. I don't have the accommodation though. Funds, will a bank statement be sufficient or CASH ? Don't know what to do, I'm feeling so anxious. Any advice? Thank you in advance 👍

Assuming you are a UK citizen, I recommend that you go to Wikipedia and search for “visa requirements for UK citizens”. This will take you to one of an array of different nationalities’ pages which neatly summarise your entry requirements. BTW, although you may be able to stay airside and re-check your bags at a transfer desk, you should assume worst case scenario and be prepared to arrive, clear CIQ, claim your bags and check in from scratch. Good luck.

They have this old feature and it's called "leave group". You should be used to old features after looking in the mirror each morning.

I did a self transfer in China, no problems whatsoever, was given a Chinese visa for a few months as well, obviously didn't use it.

Seriously? You will collect your luggage in China?

I know nothing about Bahrain but to get luggage a passenger needs to get stamped out.

China gives you a 7 day visa waiver. Next time I'm doing a long layover and explore Shanghai for a few days.
