Hi guys,

Whilst " under consideration" for extension based on marriage can you leave Thailand?

If so, would you have to be back for the date stamped for return or can that date be missed and just continue on return ?

Thanks ๐Ÿ™

TLDR : Answer Summary
Yes, you can leave Thailand while your marriage visa extension is under consideration, provided you obtain a re-entry permit. You must return by the date on your visa stamp to retain your extension; any return after this date will result in losing the extension and necessitate starting the process over. Additionally, it's advisable to inform your local immigration office of your travel plans.

Suggest that you inform your Thai immigration office of your plan to leave Thailand during the UNDER CONSIDERATION PERIOD

... so they are aware just in case they are going to make a home visitation during the UNDER CONSIDERATION PERIOD.

Buy your re-entry permit BEFORE you depart Thailand...

You CAN leave thailand during the under consideration period on a marriage extension as long as you BUY a re-entry permit and are back on or by the date the stamp runs out.

IF you come back after that date you lose the extension you applied for and have to start all over with a new Non-O, then year extension.

You MUST be back to go to the immigration office the date the stamp in your passport says.
