Is it correct that you only need to do a new Tm30 if you leave Thailand? Traveling within Thailand does not require you to do so.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The TM30 requirement primarily depends on the local immigration policies. Generally, you are only required to file a new TM30 when you leave Thailand and re-enter, not for travel within Thailand as long as you stay at the same place of residence. However, if you stay at a different hotel, that hotel must file a TM30 on your behalf. The obligation to file the TM30 falls on the host (like a landlord or hotel) rather than on the individual, unless the person owns the property. There may also be variability in how different immigration offices enforce these rules.

I have just bought my own condo and will go use for the first time in December how do you do the tm 30 online we’re can I get this info thanks

Yes, that is correct. A new TM30 (notification of residence) is required when you leave and re-enter Thailand, as it is a requirement for foreigners to notify their place of residence upon re-entering the country. Traveling within Thailand does not require filing a new TM30 as long as you stay within the same residence and do not leave the country.

Also remember policies of offices change as the staff change. My office originally didn't want an updated TM30 when returning from overseas, then they did & now they want one every time I stay in a hotel

I've never had to show a tm 30 I've been going Thailand for 17 years I leave it to the hotel I've never been asked for one

Different offices have different rules. I know that when filing tm47 on line the 2 addresses must match or it will be rejected. So, if you stay away one night where a tm30 is filed for you you will have to file another one when you get home to use the on line 90 reporting.

If you leave and return on a re-entry permit to the same address Jomtien at least doesn’t require a new tm30
As mentioned its the hotel, or landlord that has the duty to do it.
You will need a copy of it for whatever you need to to at immigration offices . If you don’t need to to visa extension, request CoR, do 90’day report etc. Then there’s no real consequence for you personally.
90 day report is your duty, tm 30 is hotel/landlord/host duty,
When you travel within I’m Thailand, every new hotel will usually report TM30.

You personally do not do a TM30. Wherever you are staying does, and is required to file one within 24 hours of you arriving. If wherever you stay doesn't file one then they are breaking the law. Again you personally do not file one, unless of course you own the condo you live in
My landlord is absent and I have filled Tm30 myself before when I changed permant address. But you need their particulars ie. Copies of ID House book Lease etc.

You still need to report 90 day if you stay for 1 year?
It is completely dependent on your local immigration office policy. Some only require a new filing if you return to the country. Some don’t care if you return to your same address. Others will need you to do a new one if you stay in a hotel for one night.
Guess I'll just check when I get back from 1 night in a hotel. Really would be a hassle if you had to do it every time if you are a frequent traveller within Thailand. Thanks for input.
