Do I need to submit a 90-day report if I am applying for an extension on the same day it is due?

Now that the covid extensions program has been extended... On our last extension that we did yesterday (Koh Samui), we got the 90-day report receipt in the passport, for the first time, asking to report on 20.11.2021, which is the same day as the current extension runs out.

Taking into consideration that we're gonna come for another extension on or before that date (likely around 18.11 or so), do we still need to do the 90-day report separately? Sounds a bit counter-intuitive since we're gonna come for another extension anyway. If it's needed, can we do it in one go - come on, say, 18.11 and do both the report and the next extension?

Thank you.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquires about the necessity of filing a 90-day report when they plan to apply for a visa extension on the same day the report is due. Responses clarify that the 90-day reporting and visa extension are treated as separate processes; thus, the report must be submitted on the designated date to avoid fines. Some immigration offices may allow both actions to be completed simultaneously, but this varies by location.

I'm shutting this down. Kanchanburi, Bangkok, and Samui are different immigration offices and have different requirements for 90 day reports on a 60 day extension of stay based on unable to travel due to COVID-19. Some require it, some don't. Some allow a person to file the 90 day report at the same time as the extension of stay, and some don't.

Failure to do a 90 day report if it's required is a fine of 2K THB, payable the next time an extension of stay is submitted.

Thank you

Yes, you can do your 90 day report on the same day you do your next extension. 90 day report can be done 15 days prior to or 7 days after the mentioned report date

IF !!! you can get another extension

I know covid extension isn't a given, but so far there's been no problems getting them @ Koh Samui, with much less hassle (and documentation) than in most other places.

I read that his receipt tells him to do 90 days report on Nov 20th, which is the same date his current visa extension runs out. So if he goes their on Nov 18 for another extension, he can also do the 90 days report as it's within 15 days prior to the next report date (20th). Although I find it odd that their 90 days report date is due on 20.11.2021 if they just did the report yesterday because technically, it should have been 90 days after like you have said. But if the receipt says they should report on Nov 20th, then they can do the next report earlier as long as it's within 15 days prior due date.

We didn't do any reports yesterday (or ever really), this is the first time we got the notification in the passport.

I don't think that'll be possible for a 60 day extension of stay based on unable to travel due to COVID-19. A new 60 day extension of stay based on unable to travel due to COVID-19 must be purchased every 60 days, while a 90 day report is submitted every 90 days (with the earliest being 75 days before the due date).

Well as it stands now, our required report date is the same date that the current extension runs out, so this time we can probably do it altogether.

For this time, you can; for the next time (IF they extend it), you probably can't submit them together.

90 day reporting has NOTHING to do with getting another extension. You DO go do the 90 day report on the date it tells you

. Is it possible to do the report, say, 2 days earlier? To save an extra trip to the immigration and do both the extension and the report on the same date (since we don't wanna go on the exact date the stamp runs out).

@Konstantin *********
you can do a 90 day report 2 weeks before it's due down to 7 days AFTER the actual due date without a fine.

So in your case from the 6th of Nov to the 27th you can do a 90 day report in person

An extension of stay and a 90 day report are separate documents. If a 90 day report is required, you'll have to submit it, or you will be fined 2K THB.
