Do I need to show 500,000 Baht every time I extend my Digital Nomad Visa in Thailand?

"Once I get the DTV (Digital Nomad Visa), after 180 days, do I still need to show 500,000 Baht every time I extend it? If I exit and re-enter, is there any chance immigration might get suspicious and ask to see my bank balance again before giving a new entry stamp? Nowadays, many agencies are offering DTV visa packages, so I just want to be sure before I apply."

TLDR : Answer Summary
When you apply for an extension of your Digital Nomad Visa (DTV) at immigration after the initial 180 days, you will need to show proof of 500,000 Baht in your bank account, along with updated documentation used for your original application. However, upon exiting and re-entering Thailand, there have been no widespread reports of immigration asking for proof of funds; most travelers have reportedly been stamped in without issue. It is advisable to keep funds accessible in case queries arise in the future.

Forget using a PACKAGE of DTV services. Do it yourself. Read the posts about getting the DTV visa on this forum. Carefully choose the Thai Embassy or Consulate where you will be applying. It's evident that there's Thai Embassy's and Consulates which are now aware of agent made applications and denying them.

I travel for work every month and never been asked for proof of funds upon entry
Elías ********
You don't need to extend. Just travel as usual, you'll get 180 days upon each entry.

Extension yes re entry no.

Avoid agents if you have money

If you apply for extension at immigration, you must show the 500,000 and fresh paperwork from everything you used to originally apply for it.

If you leave and return, then there have not been reports of inquiry upon entry yet.

It's best to keep it on hand as my son was asked to show funds when he re-entered after 180 days

Anonymous participant 993 why do you lie? Never ever was ask about Bankbalance when entered

Anonymous participant 993 on a serious note, could you provide a bit more details? What airport was this and how long ago? Thank you.
Dany ********
Anonymer Teilnehmer 993 never heard that anyone was asked for that on a re-entry

both Anonymous 343 and 993 are correct here…

@Dany *******
don't believe anonymous, that's the rule of the thumb

@Elías *******
that logic is flawed. Anyone can create an account and pretend to be a person. And most people in general talk crap as you’ve just shown.

There are reasons to be anonymous, hence the feature
Elías ********
Participante anónimo 343 the anonymous 343 advocating for the anonymous 993 😂 This is glorious. I might joint the anonymous syndicate later if they offer good benefits.

@Elías *******
this is ironic coming from a profile that has no real profile photo and has their profile totally locked down.

Please explain how your profile offers anymore value when it comes to posting?

I work for immigration so that should speak for itself why I don’t post using my name and opt for the anonymous feature
Elías ********
Participante anónimo 343 that's my real photo duh... so zero irony. It's me wearing the Star Trek's Star Fleet uniform (do you know what it is, right? If not, Google it). It has some special effects on the background, but the face part is 100% real, as well as my name. And it's locked to avoid anonymous like you prying on my personal life. I don't care where you work, and to answer why non-anonymous profiles are better (at least in pages or groups like this), it's because you can see consistency on the persons, like you can see all the past posts of any person.

And as bonus info, which I don't know if you already know or not, I'm letting you know that the Admins of each FB site/group can see the profile name (and also profile, to the extent is unlocked or not) of each member.

@Elías *******
there is nothing real about that photo, the entire thing has been altered dullard

Your have a point about the consistency. I can see you are a consistent moron
Elías ********
Participante anónimo 343 so now the anonymous is telling me than I'm not me. Well, whatever.

@Elías *******
seriously? Ok wait and see, my son was questioned at immigration and asked to show the funds in his account, just a warning if not have then fine don't cry when refused
David ********
Anonymous participant 993 that's not true. Show the rule here that says you must have the 500k in your bank when enter or you will be fined.
Greg ********
Currently nobody is reporting have to show 500k upon entry or re-entry. Nobody knows if it will ever happen in the future. Deal with the situation as it arises. It may never.
Anonymous ******************
You can only extend once per entry and you will have to show it’s been in your bank account for t least 30 days prior ALL other documents need to be updated such as cookery / Muay Thai / permission to work remotely.
Anna *********
Anonymous participant 383 are you sure ????Most people are just being stamped in If you extend in country it is more complicated
James ********
@Anna ********
if you want to get the 180 Day extension INSIDE THAILAND Thailand at your local Thai Immigration office, you will need to provide proof of your still meeting all of the requirements for the DTV visa that you SUBMITTED to obtain it.

@James *******
thank you I know that as per my ‘more complicated’ comment 😀
