What happens to my Non-O retirement visa if I leave Thailand for Central America without renewing it?
A question about giving up the non-o retirement visa. My 12 month extension ends in May 19th. If I fly to Laos on May 18th and return to Thailand on May 25th. Would there be questions by immigration on why I did not renew my retirement visa?
I plan to leave Thailand and go live in Central America for a while. My flight out to Costa Rica is scheduled for June 30th. And my lease also ends here in Chiang Mai on June 30th. I'm a USA passport holder.
Any shared knowledge would be highly appreciated.

cheeseburgers_66 . . . you will be fine, your plan is good and will work. In case you have any bank account deposits, withdraw them and exchange at Superrich in Bangkok back to Greenbacks

OPGreg Alexander is there a limit of withdrawal on accounts? I was able to withdraw 100k baht in one day in Bangkok 2 years ago.

Tomas Arndt and in order to VOID his extension he just needs to await the expiry of it while he stays outside of Thailand

Tomas Arndt Your wires are crossed . . . . . . .he doesn't have any visa, he is on a 1-year Extension of Stay based on retirement, and he wants to INVALIDATE the extension, so he can re-enter Thailand visa-exempt and then leave Thailand for good by June (within the 60 days stay permit he will get stamped in when he re-enters coming from Laos)

OPGreg Alexander exactly, I do want to give up my retirement visa. Is it still 60 days of stay or 30 us citizens.
