What are the options for extending my stay in Thailand after my ed visa ends, and how can I avoid complications?

ORIGINAL POSTER
I am currently on an ed visa (martial arts, originally went to Vientiane) which ends around end of November. I have a UK passport.

My plan was to get another ed visa (Thai language). I've heard in Vientiane that must be at least one calendar year after my previous.

However, I plan to only stay until June next year, and am wondering if there are simpler options? Could I get a 60 day tourist visa, then extend in country for 30 days, and do that a couple of times? Or am I likely to be fighting the system?

This has been my first year in Thailand so my passport is fairly clean.

The positive of the ed visa is I don't need to hang around borders to get back into the country. I go to immigration every 90 days and I'm done. However, is perhaps a bit expensive considering I won't be here the full term.

Would appreciate any advice.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is currently holding an ed visa related to martial arts that will expire in November and is exploring options to extend their stay in Thailand until June next year. They are considering applying for another ed visa for Thai language studies but have learned that there may be a requirement to wait one calendar year after the previous visa. Instead, they are inquiring about the possibility of obtaining a 60-day tourist visa, extending it in Thailand for an additional 30 days, and repeating this process to stay longer without complications.
