Tourist Visa Extension - I had 60 days, I want another 30, what do I need to show them?

Do they ask rental(tm30) , funds, etc ?

Also - can it be done in Koh Phangan or only Samui ?

Thanks.

TLDR : Answer Summary
To extend a 60-day tourist visa in Thailand for an additional 30 days, you need to show the following documents: a TM30 form from your landlord, two recent passport-sized photos, a copy of your stamped visa page, and a copy of your passport's data page. The extension can be processed in Koh Phangan, but ensure you have registered your accommodation as late registration can incur fines. While requirements may vary slightly, generally, it's advisable to prepare all documents to avoid issues, especially when using different immigration offices.

I also have a 60 day visa. Can I get the extension two months before I need it? Thx you for your help.

No office will give you an extension that far in advance. Some allow with 45 days remaining, most with 30 days remaining and a few with only 7 days remaining. It all depends on which Immigration Office you have to use.

Thank you very much. Iโ€™ll wait, thereโ€™s no rush. Merry Christmas! ๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ™

Only need your passport, photos and 1900B at Samui. I paid an agent for tm30 and they never even asked. Wasted my money with that. Oh well, at least I'm correctly registered..

what if they ask and I don't have? ๐Ÿ™‚ seems like Samui is easier than KP

@Ran *****
definitely is by miles. Well, if they ask and you don't have, tell them you will contact your landlord and then you go, get one from an agent or spend a night in a hotel/hostel that can offer you one, then you come back with it. Need to be for Samui if you're applying in Samui.

at the Immigration Ko Phangan they will definitely ask you if you have been registered in your accommodation by TM30. If not, the fine for late reporting can be up to 2000.- THB and your landlord and you will need to fulfill the registration ASAP, before your stay permit runs out

I don't understand, can you explain? I first stayed in a hotel for a month, then I enter another private house only after a month, so what fine do you talk about? ๐Ÿ™‚

What if people stay in a hotel?

@Ran *****
in case you stay in a hotel, the hotel will automatically register you TM30 in the online system. Once you move into a private accommodation, the houseowner or landlord will have to report you by TM30 within 24 hours of you arriving at the residence - either personally on Immigration or by the online system

they need a print of the screenshot of the tm30 or the exported pdf!

Also need copy of your stamped in page and copy of data page of passport

Youโ€™ll need TM 30 from your landlord and two photos of yourself, 1900 Thb.

You can do it KP.

@Sonia *****

Different offices have different requirements which is why it's best to ask for their list of requirements first

it must be tm30? Or any other type work? I am not sure they have it.. i stay first month in a hotel and i have a proof, now after a month I enter a private house.. so what are the rules here?
Rene ******
@Ran *****
the owner of the place where you stay has to put you in a system. Ask them for a screenshot or a pdf of the proof of it. (Say "tm30" and they will know)
